Opis

The Greek poet Homer wrote about Troy and the "Trojan War", which probably took place in what is now Asia Minor, in his work "Iliad" from the 8th century B.C. Soon afterwards, on a trip to Greece, Paris meets the beautiful Helen, who immediately falls in love with Paris. However, as she is the wife of the Spartan king Menelaus, she eventually allows herself to be abducted by Paris. The Greeks then form a large army and go to war against Troy to get Helen back. He has the idea of building a large wooden horse with warriors hidden inside. The horse is placed in front of the city gates. The Trojans are made to believe that the siege has been abandoned, whereupon they bring the horse into the city, despite some warnings, to dedicate it to the goddess Athena. During the night, the warriors climb out of the horse and open the gate to the Greek army. The troops storm the city and burn it to the ground.
The royal family and all the warriors of Troy are killed; only Aeneas, the son of Aphrodite, who becomes the progenitor of the Romans after years of wandering, manages to escape. There are several versions of the fate of the beautiful Helen. She is said to have returned to Sparta with Menelaus and ruled there for the rest of her life. Or not ....
