Quasi una Siciliana

The brief solo violin piece “Quasi una siciliana” by Gerald Resch was given its world premiere on 15 December 2016 during the course of a Christmas concert by the ensemble ‘Wiener Collage’ at the Arnold Schönberg Centre in Vienna. The work vaguely refers to the character of pastoral baroque Christmas music, hinting at aspects of its conventions. Marianna Oczkowska, who comprehensively advised Gerald Resch during the composition of this piece, was the soloist at the world premiere.
