Benedictus

The penultimate movement from "The Armed Man: a Mass for Peace" by Karl Jenkins has become a classic in the meantime.

Guy Wilson, former director of the Royal Armoryies Museum, who commissioned "The Armed" Man to celebrate the Millennium and the museum's move from London to Leeds, says: Even the survivors of a war can be injured or even destroyed by it. Benedictus heals these wounds with his slow and steady affirmation of trust.

This new publication offers the possibility to perform the Benedictus for the first time as a separate work and with piano accompaniment. The edition contains the cult cello introduction, even if a performance with cello is optional. It is also compatible with the complete piano score and therefore also suitable for the original instrumentation of this mass with orchestra.
