Christmas is the time of the year where everyone comes together, and peace, family and friendship bonds are strengthened. When selecting repertoire for your Christmas concert, it’s difficult to find new arrangements that are both challenging and funto work on, as well as fun for the audience. Crazy for Christmas is one of those pieces by the Belgian composer Bert Appermont. He uses canons and even fugues throughout this arrangement and foresees a spectacular ending. It is based on Ilest né le divin Enfant and Away in a Manger but refers wittily to Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, The Twelve Days of Christmas and Hark, the Herald AngelsSing. So ‘crazy’ all the way!

Il Natale è il momento dell’anno in cui le famiglie si ritrovano e le amicizie si rafforzano. Selezionare il repertorio per un concerto natalizio è sempre una scelta importante, complice la difficoltà di trovare nuovi stimolanti arrangiamenti su cuilavorare. Proprio per questo motivo il compositore belga Bert Appermont ha scritto Crazy for Christmas, brano basato su Il Est Né le Divin Enfant e Lontano in una Mangiatoia e arricchito da elementi dal fascino antico come canonie fughe oltre che da stuzzicanti rimandi a Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls e The Twelve Days of Christmas.
