“You are like a flower”, a fragrant, love, and spring poem. What topicality can it still have? Can the meaning, the poetic gesture of the poet still reach us today in all its immediacy?

“Wanderer‘s Night Song” is dedicated to my friend Dirk Ritter. When I visited him at the end of his long struggle with the disease, I suddenly knew how to set the poem to music and it came from a single source. It is a „wandering song“ in the truest sense of the word: the singer wanders out of life singing.
